Caroline Dean

Photo by Laurie MachungMs. Dean, the 2008 Education and Outreach Award winner, continues teaching at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University and traveling from state to state to raise awaerness about the importance and beauty of wetlands.

Reaching out to schools and community groups, she teaches audiences about wetland flora and invasive weeds.

Dean regularly responds to e-mail inquiries, and her extensive wildflower collection is shared on the Auburn University Digital Library. The collection, which has received increasing attention, is designed to promote the appreciation and preservation of native wildflowers.
